Aqua/Magma Headquarters
-------------------------------------
Head to the
harbour and
you'll see
Captain
Stern being
interviewed
by the TV
Crew - talk to
him. You'll
hear Team
Aqua/Magma
inside
gloating
about their
newest theft,
so head to
their base in
Lilycove City
to stop
them.
You'll see
that the two
grunts
previously
blocking the
way have
gone,
enabling
access to the
hideout.
Walkthroughs
for the
respective
bases are
here: Aqua
Base
(Sapphire)
and Magma
Base (Ruby) .
------------------
Mossdeep City
------------------
When you exit the cave, you'll find
that the Wailmer blocking the sea
exit to the east have gone, so you
may now continue in that direction
to Mossdeep City. You'll see a house
on an island along the way, this is
the Hunter's House. If you have
coloured shards, you can trade them
for evolution stones - Green Shards
give you Leaf Stones, Red Shards for
Fire, Blue Shards for Water and
Yellow Shards for Thunder. If you
head southeast from there, you'll
reach Mossdeep City. There's a small
island cave to the north of Mossdeep
City, Shoal Cave , and you can go
there now if you want.
Take a look around the city - in the
house to the left of the PokeCenter,
a boy will tell you were your Secret
Base is. In the house behind it,
Steven will give you HM08 - Dive,
and in the house to the right, the
man will tell you the PokeBlock
colour preference of your Pokemon.
The boy walking around town will
give you a King's Rock, and there's a
Net Ball in the south eastern corner
of the island, and north of that, the
fisherman inside the house will give
you a Super Rod. Check out the
large tower, it's the Mossdeep Space
Center - you can get a Sun Stone
from one of the people inside. When
you're done with the town, head to
the gym.
--------------------
Mossdeep Gym
--------------------
The gym is filled with conveyor belts
and switches. You'll have to navigate
through the mazes, flicking switches
where appropriate to gain access to
Tate and Liza.
Pokemon Information
Lunatone
Level: 42
Type: Rock/
Psychic
Solrock
Level: 42
Type: Rock/
Psychic
The first ever Gym Leader Double
Battle - and it will be tough.
Solrock's Sunny Day will reduce the
effectiveness of Water attacks, while
Flamethrower disposes of Grass, Bug
and Steel types. Levitate nullifies
Ground attacks. Calm Mind will
protect against special attacks from
Dark Pokemon. Moreover, Lunatone
will attempt to put your Pokemon to
sleep with Hypnosis, and the gym
leaders will be dishing out Hyper
Potions at will. Fortunately you
should be able to deal some heavy
damage since you've got two
Pokemon out at the same time -
plan wisely, and you should be able
to defeat them.
When you defeat Tate and Liza,
they'll give you the Mind Badge
which raises the Special Attack and
Special Defense of your Pokemon,
and allows you to use HM08 - Dive
outside of battle. You'll also receive
TM04 - Calm Mind, which
simultaneously raises your Special
Attack and Special Defense.
